Frank Allen was not one who sought trouble; in fact he would often use diplomacy in order to avoid it; but when he found there was no other way out save a recourse to battle, no one had ever known him to shirk the consequences.
Taken at a disadvantage, and with two against him, it was little wonder that he receivedd servral blows before hecould recover himself.
These stung him to the quick, and aroused his fighting spirit, so that he was ready to give his cowardly assailants as good as he received.
High School boys, as well as those in college, do all sorts of strange things, and Frank had been concerned in too many affazirs himself, even to abducting the president of a rivial class about to give a spread, and thus winning honors among his mates, to really wonder at anything of this sort....
